Last week Ziggy visited MPS de Zonnebloem for their city tour of Dordrecht. In a group of wheelchair users and volunteers, we enjoyed brilliant sunny skies and an exciting afternoon out.
With the Ziggy, the pairs were able to experience exploring the city together. The atmosphere was social and being shoulder to shoulder pairs could laugh together freely.
We were all excited to see how Ziggy faired through the (sometimes narrow) old streets of Dordrecht. We were pleasantly surprised! Ziggy safety managed the whole tour, at one point briefly folding in for a narrow piece of side walk. Some volunteers thought Ziggy was even lighter than a normal wheelchair – great!
MPS de Zonnebloem offers holidays with all the necessary adaptations and facilities to enable though with a disability to have a great holiday experience. Volunteers play a key role in enabling 2850 physically disabled people board the ship each year.
We joined MPS de Zonnebloem on their penultimate day and really enjoyed the friendly, motivating atmosphere. We’d like to thank the volunteers and wheelchair users who experienced Ziggy and welcomed us into their trip for the day.
